Take a sheet of paper and write down at the top what your subject is.
Then list below it as many ideas you can think of which have to do with that subject.
So for instance if my subject was about "apples", I'd list things like "tree, soil, seeds and vitamins".
This would then lead me to perhaps start my paper off with how an apple starts off as a seed and once implanted in the soil becomes a tree and eventually apples are produced.
If you know very little about your subject then search the internet for more information and jot down what comes up.
Step 2 Writing- The next step is to actually set aside a few hours to write your paper.
This task is always more daunting when you haven't started it, however usually if you've brainstormed a subject thoroughly this task flows pretty quickly.
A paper generally needs three things: a thesis, a body and a conclusion.
So think of your thesis and then build your body paragraphs around it so that each paragraphs points back to support your thesis.
The conclusion should wrap up the body and thesis into one.
There's a very powerful technique if used will make your paper flow smoothly and make it 10 times better than if you hadn't used it: a "tie-in sentence".
Use it at the beginning of a body paragraph; it goes something like this, "so in other words the apple on its own" or "what this means is the apple".
Step 3 Editing- The BEST part about writing a paper! Pretty simple, this means re-reading your paper out loud and checking for odd or run-on sentences, inaccuracies, spelling and grammatical errors.
You'll also be deleting or adding words as necessary.
If you'd like to go the extra mile, choose a word in your essay that may be re-occurring and visit thesaurus.
com then type that word in to find a synonym to replace it with.
Don't go overboard, but this is usually a great way to impress a teacher or reader with your knowledge of big words.
