    • 1). Visit the website for the Texas Water Development Board and review the types of community assistance grants that are being offered. As of 2010, the board offers grant or loan applications for financial aid with issues such as water system development, water system maintenance, flood prevention, post-flood relief funds, water conservation and pollution prevention. Review the available financial grants and decide which one, if any, is most relevant to help your situation.

    • 2). Look into water grant programs offered by other agencies if the Texas Water Development Board does not offer financial relief grants that apply to your situation or if you have missed application deadlines. Other agencies such as the Texas Department of Rural Affairs, Office of the Governor, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality offer community assistance water grant programs that are not under the Texas Water Development Board's control.

    • 3). Click on the web link that pertains to the financial aid application you are interested in. Each type of grant, no matter which agency offers it, has its own, very specific application instructions and deadlines. Read the detailed instructions for completing the water assistance grant application and follow them exactly. Complete the application in detail and send it in to the corresponding address or email address.
