How to Install a Warn Battery Isolator
- 1). Remove the negative connections from your battery's terminals.
- 2). Find an appropriate dry location to mount the battery isolator. The ideal location is near the alternator but away from any heat sources. Drill 1/8 inch holes and mount with the screws provided.
- 3). Locate the alternator and find the "BAT" terminal. Remove the wire's fastened to this terminal and reconnect them on terminal 1 of the battery isolator.
- 4). Connect the end of a new wire of the correct gauge to the "BAT" terminal of the alternator and the other end to the "A" terminal of the isolator.
- 5). Mount the circuit breaker as near to the auxiliary battery as possible. Connect one end of a new wire of the appropriate gauge to terminal "2" on the Isolator. Run this wire to the circuit breaker and connect it to the "AUX" terminal. Connect another new wire to the other connection on the circuit breaker (BAT) and run that to the batteries positive terminal.
