- The Chevrolet Cameo was a pickup truck manufactured from 1955-1958. Chevy's 1957 Cameo was considered a light-duty truck that had a factory price of $2,273. There were 2,244 Chevrolet Cameos produced in 1957; this was a limited production vehicle. This Cameo is now considered a classic car and is sought after by many car enthusiasts. The 1957 model is considered by many to be the defining design for the Cameo series.
- The 1957 Cameo was available in 15 solid colors and nine two-tone color combinations. The Cameo pallete included red, ivory, turquoise, yellow, black, green, blue and beige. The grille was updated in 1957 but the truck retained Chevy's distinctive fiberglass side panels at the rear fenders.
- The Cameo had a gross vehicle weight of 5,000 pounds, according to Chevrolet, and the truck was over 193 inches long. This model had a 114-inch wheel base and came equipped with four-ply 6.7-by-15-inch wheels.
- A 283-cubic-inch eight-cylinder engine allowed the 1957 Cameo to produce 185 horsepower. The rear axles had a 3,300-pound capacity while the front axles had a 2,200 pound capacity. The Cameo was available with three- and four-speed Synchromesh transmissions as well as a Hydra-Matic (automatic) option. The truck had a 21.3-1 steering ratio and a 14.5-gallon fuel capacity.
