    • 1). Locate the battery and find the red #12 wire on the positive battery terminal wired to the positive terminal on the fuse panel. Locate the black #12 wire on the negative battery terminal wired to the main ground strip. Note that the connections are tighter than "finger-tight."

    • 2). Find the black #6 cable wired from the negative battery terminal to the ground bolt or ground strap on the engine. Locate the red #6 cable wired from the positive battery terminal to a large bolt on the solenoid mounted on the engine.

    • 3). Access the ignition module. Locate the #16 red marine wire on the positive terminal of the ignition module wired to a 20-amp or larger terminal on the fuse panel. Locate the #16 red marine wire on the "Start" terminal of the ignition module wired to a small terminal on the starter solenoid. Locate the #16 black marine wire on the other small terminal of the starter solenoid wired to a terminal on the ground strip.

    • 4). Go to the control panel. Locate the #16 red marine wire on the positive terminal of the control panel wired to a 20-amp or larger fuse terminal on the fuse block. Locate the #16 black marine wire on the negative terminal of the control panel wired to a terminal on the ground strip.

    • 5). Access the lights. Find the #16 black marine wire on the negative terminal of the lights wired to a terminal on the main ground strip. Locate the #16 red marine wire on the positive terminal of the lights wired to the "On" terminal of the light switch. Locate the #16 red marine wire on the positive terminal of the light switch wired to a 20-amp or larger fuse terminal on the fuse block.

    • 6). Go to the horn. Locate the #16 black marine wire on the negative terminal of the horn wired to a terminal on the main ground strip. Locate the #16 red marine wire on the positive terminal of the horn wired to the "On" terminal of the horn button. Locate the #16 red marine wire on the positive terminal of the horn button wired to a 20-amp terminal on the fuse panel.

    • 7). Note that all accessory switches are wired in the same manner. Note that marine wire does not corrode at the terminals. Also be aware that any additions to the boat wiring should be done in the same manner as the existing wiring.
