The colon is one of the key organs that keeps the body functioning.
It is so important that a minor dysfunction in the colon can create major problems in the body.
It may be headache, backache, body pains, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, rectal bleeding, skin problems, etc.
the colon is a part of the large intestines and every thing that we eat will have to go there first before getting eliminated.
It is the colon that extracts the nutrients from the food and eliminates the wastes.
Therefore without a healthy and efficient colon, the body will get nothing out of the food.
The colon can protect itself from the harmful materials that we allow to enter the body, but when we overdo the harm, the colon breaks down and losses the fight.
It is our responsibility to eat well and take care of the colon.
We need to support the colon by consuming healthy and easily digestible food and by avoiding unhealthy lifestyle.
There are many bacteria that live in the colon and they are divided into good bacteria and bad bacteria.
The good bacteria help in cleaning the colon and keep it fresh whereas the bad bacteria come from the unhealthy wastes.
The bad bacteria needs to be removed from the body and are often done with the wastes.
But the good bacteria are helpful to the colon and the body and their presence is important.
When there is an imbalance in the flora, problems arise and the situation is called colonic dysbacteriosis.
There has to be a balance between the good and the bad bacteria.
When the population of the bad bacteria is higher than that of the good bacteria, the later cannot protect the colon and problems arise.
Colonic dysbacteriosis is a dangerous situation and can cause problems such as constipation, diarrhea, and so many more.
In this case the person suffering must do something to correct the balance and bring forth a fresh and healthy flora in the colon.
Colon cleansing is therefore important according to the many people.
Many scientists however refuse to acknowledge this and hold that colon cleansing only makes things worse by getting rid of all the good bacteria without facilitating its growing back.
A good diet is the best solution for colonic dysbacteriosis.
A healthy diet with lots of fibers and low fat can keep the colon's flora good.
The person must eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables and also drink plenty of water to keep the bad bacteria away and maintain a good balance.
