How to Change a Honda MAP Sensor

    • 1). Disconnect the negative battery cable by loosening the nut on the cable clamp, using the socket wrench, and sliding the clamp off the negative terminal.

    • 2). Remove the electrical plug from the MAP sensor on the intake manifold, which is at the back of the engine.

    • 3). Remove the vacuum hose on the MAP sensor: squeeze the tabs on the retaining ring with a pair of pliers, and slide the ring out of the way; then pull the hose off the MAP sensor.

    • 4). Remove the two screws from the MAP sensor, and pull the sensor off the manifold.

    • 5). Install the new sensor. Installation is the reverse of removal.
