5 Questions With Fall To June
5 Questions With... is your chance to get to know a new or up-and-coming band. Florida hard rockers Fall To June recently released their self-titled debut album. Vocalist Ben Badger introduces us to his band.
Give us a brief history of Fall To June.
Fall to June began in 2002 and took an indefinite hiatus in 2005. Last year Nate and I went back to the studio to finish a few songs from back then and one new track, "Delta Breakdown." We realized immediately that we were onto something special.
Â
Jeremy Marshall came on board to handle bass and things moved into a record deal with a quickness! Dan Mickler was next to join the bunch on guitar and then finally Jasin Todd finished out the current lineup in February. Now we are off to the races with no signs of slowing down!
Describe the songwriting and recording process for your self-titled debut album.
We had four skeletons and one new idea written when we went into the studio with Stan Martell. From that point on we all put on our working boots and did whatever the songs needed to really live up to their potential. We like to write as a unit as much as possible, so sometimes that process takes a little more time, but it is a full band input that makes a full band voice, we feel.Â
We also had the chance to co-write with some of the fellas from Fuel and a few other friends for some of the new material. We are very pleased to share our new stuff with everyone!
How would you characterize the style/sound of the album?
Overall it is really just a good ole' rock n' roll album with a bit of that working class mentality written into it.
You will find a bit of blues, a bit of anthem rock, some southern flavor, but most importantly you will feel the soul of good ole' American rock music come to life.
What has been your most memorable Fall To June live show, and what are your upcoming tour plans?
We like to think that every Fall to June show is memorable for one reason or another! Every time a fan seeks us out after a gig to thank us or let us know how they were affected by what we do it is a reminder of how much we get to be thankful for in this crazy line of work.
Our tour plans are to go out with Black Stone Cherry throughout May and just get on as many stages as we can for the rest of the year. We feel like it is time to get to work and share our sweat with everybody.
Anything else you'd like to mention or promote?
