How to Set Up a Scrapbooking Weekend
- 1). Determine the guest list for the scrapbooking weekend. Keep the guest list relatively small to keep the event manageable. Remember that at least some of the invitees will likely have a conflict that prevents them from attending.
- 2). Choose a weekend for the scrapbooking event. Consider major holidays or events that may interfere. It's difficult to accommodate everyone's schedules, so find a weekend that works best for most of the guests.
- 3). Determine the agenda of the event. If it is local, consider having the guests come during the day and return to their own homes at night. The other option is to have the guests spend the night for a retreat-style event. This takes more coordination for the lodging and meals.
- 4). Secure a location for the scrapbooking weekend. Choose a location that is large enough to accommodate all of the guests and their scrapbooking supplies. The building also needs several tables to use as working surfaces. If the guests will spend the night, the location needs overnight amenities nearby.
- 5). Create homemade invitations for the event so the guests have a reminder and all of the details. Send them out at least 3 weeks before the scrapbooking weekend.
- 6). Plan refreshments for the event. Consider asking each guest to share a food dish or beverage with everyone. Plan a meal out one night so you can enjoy the company of the others with someone else handling the food.
- 7). Plan additional entertainment options to provide a break from the scrapbook activities. Ideas include music, games, or demonstrations of new scrapbook techniques.
- 8). Organize the tables in the venue before the guests arrive. This step will allow everyone to set up quickly to start scrapbooking.
