There is a lot of work that goes in a beautifully trimmed lawn and lawnmowers are a necessity.
Lawnmowers can be categorized based on design as rotary, cylinder and hover type.
Each one are commonly available, powered by electric, gas or manual push-along.
Hover lawnmowers are equipped with the same rotary cutting action as the standard rotary lawnmowers.
The difference is that they are powered by a turbine above the cutting blade.
This turbine forces the air downwards lifting the lawnmower like a hovercraft.
Hover lawnmowers are especially advantageous for lawns that have slopes and hills.
They are made lightweight for added maneuverability.
The capacity to hover makes these mowers very easy to maneuver specially around these uneven areas.
Since they are lightweight, they can just be lifted and moved around and you can gradually sweep the mower to tackle stubborn grass.
Hover lawnmowers are less restrained in terms of movement.
They can be operated from side to side, front to back and even circular going around obstacles and objects on the garden.
Usually the mower will have a single long blade which also is responsible for creating a down draft that forces the air into the ground and opposite the mower so that the action lifts the mower and let it hover off the ground.
There are a few things that may not be right for you when you are considering hover mowers:- They are elevated so they are unable to cut the grass to a tiny trim.
They have no wheels so they are not suitable if you have to move them long distances without the power being on.
To keep them lightweight they are not equipped with a grass collection container as most other lawnmowers do.
