5 Tips for New Guitar Players
Know the basic chords.
The basic chords are A, B, C, D, E, F, and G.
These chords need to be learned by heart.
Once you have mastered the basic chords, it will be easy for you to shift from basic chords to either major or minor key.
Once the fingers are already familiar with these basic chords, you are ready for your first song.
2.
Learn the basic guitar strumming.
One can strum the guitar with either a pick or just the fingers.
A pick is a small, flat tool used to pick or strum the guitar strings.
It is a triangle-shaped tool made of plastic, nylon, tortoise shell, metal, wood, or glass.
There are different ways to strum the strings.
It would depend on how fast or how slow your song is.
Play by ear, and try to imitate the music.
3.
Play a song with basic chords When you are just learning how to play the guitar, don't rush.
Give yourself time to learn, and room for mistakes as well.
Start by playing a simple song which has the basic chords, and take it from there.
So before trying to become a rock star, play simple acoustic songs first.
They have much simpler chords, and are easy to learn.
4.
Find a motivation Learning how to play the guitar is not easy.
You'd hurt your fingertips because you need to press the strings to get a nice sharp sound that would produce the music.
There would be string marks for a week, and would even result to calluses, but after they wear off, you'd be more comfortable with the instrument.
Of course, there would be times you'd get frustrated too because you can't get a song or two right immediately, but think about this: composers and song makers had a hard time making those songs too.
So not able to play it right the first time or the 2nd time, or even the nth time is not bad.
Just try and try again.
Once you get it, you'd feel better about yourself.
5.
Love what you are doing In everything you do, the heart plays a great part.
Sure, you know the technical way to do it, but as per it is music, it needs the heart.
Let your emotions flow through your music to give it a soul.
A soulless music will never be able to reach out to the people listening to it, thus making your guitar playing something that will not hold your listeners' heart and attention.
