Tennessee is filled with festivals and fairs year round. Almost every month of the year, visitors can participate in music festivals, browse local vendors and support local agriculture. Some of the festivals in Tennessee bring in the most devoted fans, while others appeal to a larger scale. - For two full days in April, visitors to Moss, Tennessee, can enjoy all sorts of music, including blues, bluegrass, southern rock and western swing. Nearly 500 people attend this event each year. For under a low ticket price, and free admission for children under 12, guests access a full line of music and other events including a "fun dog" show, cornhole corn toss tournament, guitar and banjo workshops, and delicious local food vendors.

(931) 258-4499 - The Blue Plum Festival in Johnson City is a free outdoor music and arts festival that covers seven city blocks and lasts three days in the beginning of June. About 80,000 people attend this event, which has been held annually for over 10 years. Visitors can enjoy music and entertainment on one of numerous stages throughout the festival, providing nonstop entertainment. A 5K run/walk kicks off the second day events, and cycling races occur on the third day. With merchandise and food vendors, there is plenty to keep visitors busy each day.

blueplum.org - The Grainger County Tomato Festival in Rutledge, Tennessee, in the eastern part of the state was initially introduced to promote local agricultural products, but it has turned into a full-blown festival with over 20,000 visitors each year. This three-day event is held on the last full weekend in July and is free. Visitors can participate in Grainger County Tomato Wars, race in the Mater Madness 5K, or explore the art and history exposition. Craft and food booths are available, as well as numerous children's activities and a car show.
