Interview With Rock Band Alive Way
In2town Lifestyle Magazine decided to have a chat with founder member Justinas Stanislovaitis, of Alive Way and find out more about the band that is taking the world by storm with their music.
1. Justinas, Who came up with the name Alive Way
The origin of the band name is really a funny story. We were asked to perform at one large festival in Lithuania, and it was just the beginning of our band. We didn't have a name so we needed to come up with something. One day we all were sitting at our rehearsal studio, we took our song lyrics and picked one work form the beginning of the song and another form the ending, that's how we came up with Alive Way, which sounded kind of Cool and we didn't really knew what it meant. After the performance we received a lot of invitations and our journey as a band begun so we couldn't change it anymore.
2. When did Alive Way get together as a band
The start of this band was at 2009 June, but there was a lot of changes, band members came and go. The structure of the band as it is now formed in 2013 January.
3. What type of music do you play
Mostly pop/rock but we have a lot of hard rock songs, a lot of POP songs so I guess the best description of our genre is Pop Rock
4. What has been the best gig you have played
Vilnius Music Week 2013, It was a great show where we gave away three copies of our album €Summer Came Along€ to fans who dared to come up on stage and answer few funny questions.
5. What message are you trying to get out to your friends with your music
We want to encourage people to act selfless and help them to recover from break downs, to encourage people to dream and see life in more optimistic eyes.
6. Where would you like to be in five years' time as a band
We would love to be well known band. Gathering big stadiums and being one of the bestselling bands. Not because we urge for a fortune, but we have a lot of plans which could actually make our world a better place.
7. Do you write your own music
Yes. We write/compose our own music. Mostly all song writing is done by Justinas the leader of the band.
8. What advice would you give to someone thinking about starting a band
It can be a lot of fun hobby, but if you want to take it more seriously, If want an easy success, don't do it. It is one of the most underrated, most unappreciated profession in the world. Because it has no guarantees, it has only risk, and even if you succeed and some point, you are at risk of being forgotten. It can be very rewarding, but also very very risky.
9. You are trying to raise money for a studio can you tell me more about this
We are at the point where our technology capabilities are very limited, and for further growth we need money. We have been kicked out of a lot of studios because we have no money, or somebody who has them pays more. So we need a decent place for rehearsals and a creative space where we could do our internet concerts, shoot music videos, record albums and spread our idea through our music. We have been working hard on our skills, and we have a team of very talented people, and we have a greater purpose of our music, more than ourselves, and for us to succeed we need better equipment and a place to operate it.
10. If you could play any venue in the world where would it be
O2 arena in London.
I don't know why, but it has some specific atmosphere which is very positive.
11. Have you thought about touring the UK like other great American bands
Yes, UK is really a very interesting country and we would love visit it.
12. What has been your biggest hit to date
Actually we have two, one is our song Amazed by You, and another is Slipped Away. These songs are the ones that receive most airplay time on radio stations and we always perform them live.
