What a Blog Does: It Leads Your Visitors

What a blog does is start a conversation through its personality.
-- How do you share your personality through your blog?
  • What's your site's story?
  • What tone has it set for your visitors?
  • Do they understand who you are?
Your assignment could be to check out the tones of your successful competitors.
Then try to exceed, or at least match, that tone.
  • I started writing blog posts and articles to help me learn how to articulate what I knew and to learn more about what I didn't know.
That's what a blog does.
It helps sharpen your sword and become battle ready!
  • By becoming more confident in how to express your services through the mighty pen (or keyboard)!
My blog is also there to help me get from step to step:
  • Turn a visitor into a friend, and a friend into a client.
(I adore lots of good friends!)
  • Learn how to talk in a tone of voice that persuades people to believe in the story I am telling.
  • And, help guide my 'friends' into trusting me with their information.
    (I am very trustworthy!)
  • Build a business relationship based on trust and credibility.
    Which will equal profitability.
  • And, help my 'friend' (I truly feel like we become friends) make a buying decision.
I know that when we talk about selling to friends, it's hard to embrace the fact that, yes, you are trying to sell something.
  • Content marketing is what a blog does...
  1. So, what is it you are trying to sell?
  2. Do you understand that and have real clarity about this?
  3. Do you have clarity how to go about sharing this?
What your blog does, or needs to be doing is -
  • Lead your visitors to do the thing you wanted them to do all along.
It is the reason you have a blog in the first place.
And, you need to act on that idea in a consistent and persistent way.
You respond to your visitors, and new friends, with a structured step by step process of building the relationship leading to the sale.
What a blog does is help you with a good marketing plan.
Which is: Get the largest number of people following what you want them to do.
A great strategy is about setting up a plan.
  • A plan of where you want your visitors to go step by step.
Then as they turn into your new friends, you'll want them telling others about what they liked.
