How to Access the Belt in an Amana Dryer

    • 1). Unplug the power cord before opening the dryer.

    • 2). Open the dryer door. Remove the screws on the underside of the top panel.

    • 3). Lift the top panel up. Rest the panel against the wall behind the dryer.

    • 4). Remove the two screws holding the front panel to the dryer cabinet. Lift the front panel up and away from the dryer to disconnect it.

    • 5). Unplug the door switch electrical harness. Set the front panel aside.

    • 6). Move the idler pulley away from the belt. The idler pulley is located below the drum.

    • 7). Slide the belt off of the two pulleys. The belt can now be inspected or replaced.
