DIY Outboard Motor
- 1). Strip your weed eater by unscrewing the necessary parts and removing the motor with the rod. Remove the hacker from the rod with a wrench. If it is welted on, use the metal bender repeatedly in different directions until it falls off. In that case, flatten the end with a hammer to prevent injuries.
- 2). Weld the center of the propeller to the weed eater straight on, making sure that it is perpendicular.
- 3). Bend the 3-foot aluminum rod at the 1-foot mark by 50 degrees. Weld the longer end two inches above where your propeller is. Use this as your tiller.
- 4). Drill a hole at the 1-foot mark on the 3-foot pole, where you bent it. Tie one end of the rope on the hole and tie the other to your boat when you mount it.
