J.R., Bobby, Sue Ellen -- the gang's all back and still fighting over money and power, but this time around, J.R. and Bobby's sons, John Ross and Christopher, are at the heart of the show and stepping into their daddy's footsteps and fighting over many of the same issues that their fathers fought over back in the '80s.

J.R. Ewing (Played by Larry Hagman)

Back in the '80s, you would be hard-pressed to find someone who hadn't heard of the whole "Who shot J.R.?" marketing ploy. There were dozens of characters who had motive because this power-hungry business man has gone through life without a conscience. In the reboot, J.R. is old and not well, but that hasn't stopped him from taking his son under his wing to go gunning for Southfork ranch and all the oil that lays underneath the surface just waiting to be pumped. Will his son live his life as his father did - mean, ruthless... and alone?

Bobby Ewing (Played by Patrick Duffy)

The youngest of the three (well, actually four if you count Jock's illegitimate son Ray Krebbs) Ewing brothers, Bobby was always the favorite of the bunch because of his kind and compassionate demeanor and determination to run Southfork as Miss Ellie wanted - which is why she left it to him in her will. In this new series, Bobby is suffering from cancer and decides to sell Southfork... only to be met with the wrath of his nephew, who has discovered oil deep within the property. Bobby was married to Pamela Barnes and they adopted Christopher, who was the child of Kristin Shepard, the woman who actually did shoot J.R. Bobby is currently married to Ann Ewing.

John Ross Ewing (Played by John Henderson

J.R. and Sue Ellen's son (although J.R. was sure he was really the son of arch enemy Cliff Barnes for many years). John Ross distanced himself from his parents and went to Bobby for parental advice for many year, however the oil baron within came out when he realized (with the help of Elena) that the land on Southfork was ripe with oil. In the pilot episode, he does indeed strike oil, but is banned from doing so by Bobby. He decides to go to J.R. and is shocked to learn that his father is ready to help him fight for what they believe is theirs and another Ewing war begins. John Ross is having a relationship with Chrisopher's ex Elena, but like his father, he indulges in many affairs with other women.

Christopher Ewing (Played by Jesse Metcalfe)

The former Desperate Housewives hunk leaves Wisteria Lane behind to play Bobby's Ewings adopted son, Christopher in the reboot. Like his father, Christopher is the compassionate Ewing who rather than wanting to dig for oil like his cousin, he is determined to save the environment by pursuing alternative energy. Bobby is married to Rebecca Sutter, but was previously engaged to to Elena.

Elena Ramos (Played by Jordanna Brewster)

As the daughter of Southfork's resident cook, Elena grew up with both John Ross and Christopher. She was at one point engaged to marry Christpher, but a misunderstanding caused them to call off the wedding and she is now involved in an affair with John Ross. Elena has her masters degree in energy resources and assisted John Ross in finding the right spot to drill for oil. She is also assisting Christopher with his alternative energy troubles. I'm sure that one day she will be forced to choose one of these men.

Rebecca Sutter Ewing (Played by Julie Gonzalo)

Christopher's new wife, the mysterious Rebecca clearly has many secrets which I suspect might have to do with the Barnes family -- after all, a Dallas series wouldn't be complete without those Barnes! Rebecca was orphaned at twelve and she and her brother Tommy only have each other... maybe. She is hiding a big secret from Christopher.

Sue Ellen Ewing (Played by Linda Gray)

J.R.'s ex-wife and mother to John Ross. Sue Ellen was treated badly by J.R. during the course of their marriage, but she was certainly no angel herself. Sue Ellen had a long-running affair with Cliff Barnes and was an alcoholic. In the reboot, Sue Ellen has gotten her life together and is about to make a run for governor of Texas.

Ann Ewing (Played by Brenda Strong)

Bobby's loving and supportive wife. Not much is known yet about her background, but what we do know is that she was married to Harris Ryland, who is a wealthy business man.
