How to Remove Scratches From Walnut Veneer
- 1). Clean the walnut veneer with a mixture of warm water and a wood-cleaning product. Mix according to the manufacturer's directions.
- 2). Dry with a clean dry cloth.
- 3). Rub the meat of a walnut over the scratch. This will help hide small scratches. The oil from the walnut helps darken the scratched area, making the scratches invisible.
- 4). Apply a hard paste wax made for treating wood with a 0000 steel wool pad. Don't rub hard and go in the direction of the wood grain.
- 5). Buff the surface with a soft cloth.
