- 1). Turn the power off to the pump's wires at the distribution panel. Confirm the power is off by turning on the pump or touching a non-contact voltage detector to the wire's insulation.
- 2). Cut the power wire in the location you wish to mount the switch. Strip 3/8 inches of insulation off the wires on both cut ends.
- 3). Install the switch box to a pool house wood framing member or an exterior wall with the four screws provided.
- 4). Pull the two wires through the side access holes of the switch box.
- 5). Loosen the two terminals in the exterior switch with a screwdriver. Insert both black wires from the cut ends into each of the terminals and tighten it down.
- 6). Twist together the two white neutral wires with pliers and install a wire nut on top.
- 7). Push the white wires into the exterior switch box and install the switch into the box with the two screws provided.
