Student Day Trips to Orlando, Florida
- The Orlando area offers a vast amount of activities for students to participate in and enjoy. Located in central Florida, Orlando has many tourist attractions, as well as numerous educational venues. From zoos, to space to the ocean's inhabitants, there is a multitude of day trips available in the area for students of all ages.
- The Central Zoo and Botanical Gardens is located in Sanford, just outside of Orlando. The Central Zoo has more than 400 animals for students to view and a separate insect zoo to tour.
The children's section of the zoo, the Animal Adventure Children's Zoo, contains llamas, Barbados sheep and zebu, to name just a few of the animals. There is a tropical splashing playground for children to cool off in, a coastline railroad for students to take a train ride and an animal carousal.
The zoo is open 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. daily.

Information@centralfloridazoo.org - The Kennedy Space Center, located outside of Orlando on the coast, is an ideal day trip for students in the Orlando area. The center offers three different tours. The first tour is of the space center's LC 39 Observation Gantry and Apollo/Saturn V Center.
Discover Kennedy Space Center: Today and Tomorrow, another tour, includes a photo opportunity at the Apollo/Saturn V Center.
The last tour offered by the space center is Cape Canaveral: Then & Now tour, reenactment of the first satellite launch with a display of the rocket program.
Students can visit exhibits like the United States Astronaut Hall of Fame and Exploration Space: Explorers Wanted. The Space Center also has two IMAX theaters that show educational space movies.
The Kennedy Space Center's hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; tours start at 10 a.m. and last approximately two hours.

ksc-public-inquiries@mail.nasa.gov - Sea World in Orlando is an adventurous and educational place to take students on a day trip. There are more than nine different shows to watch at Sea World, including Shamu Rocks, Blue Horizons, and Elmo and Abby's Treasure Hunt.
In addition to these shows, Sea World has a large number of amusement rides, like Journey to Atlantis, Kraken and the Wild Arctic Ride.
Sea World in Orlando has more than 15 exhibits to help educate visitors to the park. There is a shark exhibit, a dolphin nursery, a manta aquarium and penguin area.
Sea World's hours change depending on the season.
