    • 1). Pick up the wet photos one at a time, being careful not to touch the printed sides of the photos. Touching the printed side can cause the ink to run.

    • 2). Find pictures are stuck to each other, run them under a light stream of cold water and gently pull them apart slowly. This will prevent the ink from running. If the pictures dry stuck together, they will become moldy and difficult to separate. Also use this technique for photos that are stuck to glass frames.

    • 3). Lay the photos on clean paper towels and allow them to dry. The paper towels will not cause the ink to run. Avoid direct sunlight and moist environments while drying the photos.

    • 4). Set up a dehumidifier to make sure there is no extra moisture in the room. This is important to prevent mold from forming on the photos.

    • 5). Inspect the photos once they're dry to see if there is any damage. Most photos will dry normally as long as they weren't torn or ripped while they were wet. If any photos were damaged, contact a professional graphics design company. You can find companies like this in the Yellow Pages or online.

    • 6). Scan your photos using a scanner and edit them in an art program to touch up the photos as necessary. You can also give the scanned files to a local photography or graphic design company to fix.
