- 1). Turn your Shop-Vac off, unplug the power cord and put on your gloves. Remove the latches on top of the vacuum to access the filter.
- 2). Slide the foam filter off of the shop vac valve. Run the filter under warm water while squeezing it with your hands.
- 3). Apply a small amount of dish soap to the foam filter. Continue to run it under warm water until the water runs clear. Squeeze the filter to remove the excess water.
- 4). Let the filter sun dry for three to five hours or until it is completely dry to the touch.
