    Blocking Invites to Chat Rooms

    • 1). Log into your CompuServe account with the screen name information from which you want to block the invites.

    • 2). Click on the "Chat Central" option from the CompuServe menu bar to bring up the chat central control window.

    • 3). Click on the "Options" tab.

    • 4). Un-check the boxes next to "Accept group invitations" to disable group chat, and un-check the "Accept 1-on-1 invitations" if you wish to disable one on one chat rooms.

    Blocking Instant Messages From Individual Users

    • 1). Sign into the CompuServe account on which you want to block the individuals.

    • 2). Enter a chat room or bring up a blank instant message with the individual you wish to block. Any form of conversation in which you can select the individual's name will work.

    • 3). Click on the profile button that appears next to the individual's name.

    • 4). Check the box marked ignore at the bottom section of the user's profile to block all chat invites, chat messages and instant messages from the user. Please note that when in chat rooms the ignore will clear after you close the chat room.

    Blocking Unwanted Emails

    • 1). Log into your CompuServe email account.

    • 2). Select "Mail Controls" from the CompuServe inbox options.

    • 3). Click on "Spam" or "Blocked Users." Type in the full email of the account from which you do not wish to receive emails any longer.

    • 4). Send an email to CSSPAM@cs.com containing the original spam message if you wish to report the unsolicited message. Send an e-mail to ActionTeam@cs.com if the unsolicited message was from a business instead of an individual.
