How to Connect a Fedora 9 to Windows Using a Crossover Cable

    • 1). Plug each end of the crossover cable into Ethernet ports on the back of the Fedora 9 and Windows computers.

    • 2). Click "Start" on the Windows computer, click "Control Panel," click "Network and Internet," click "Network and Sharing Center" and click "Change Adapter Settings."

    • 3). Right-click your Internet connection and click "Properties."

    • 4). Click the "Sharing" tab and click "Allow Other Users to Connect Through this Computer's Internet Connection."

    • 5). Click the "Home Networking Connection" box and click the network connection the crossover cable is plugged into in the list.

    • 6). Click "OK."

    • 7). Click the "Network Manager" icon in the system tray at the top-right corner of the Fedora 9 desktop and click "Auto Eth0" or "Auto Eth1" in the list. The Fedora computer automatically connects connects to the Windows Internet connection sharing server.
