With the latest technology in HDTV, it is now possible to do different PC tasks in your HDTV simply by connecting PC to HDTV. After setting up everything, you may now start performing some PC tasks in your HDTV such as listening to your favorite music and watching movies. It is also possible to play online games, surf the Web, or even chat, but of course, to make all these things possible, you have to connect your PC to HDTV first. Depending on what kind of HDTV you have, you can do this in different ways. To know more about how to do it, continue reading this article.

1. Using Cables

You can see red, green, and blue ports on the panel of your HDTV. You can insert your red, green, and blue cables on these ports; however, to connect these RGB (red-green-blue) cables to the computer, you should use a special kind of connector but you've got to wait until the signal is changed before you can use it. To change the signal and to connect the PC's graphic card, use a VGA connector.

If there are built-in component ports, the task of connecting PC to HDTV becomes a lot simpler. You still have to use a VGA connector but it is possible to connect it directly using a component cable. However, with component cables, you have a fairly limited connection with your HDTV. For example, it's not possible to get any over-the-air broadcasts. If you like to play on the Web using your HDTV, you can just use a cable. However, you need to have an HDTV PC card to get over-the-air broadcasts on your PC.

2. Using Cards

Many TV stations are adding more HD broadcasts to their TV programming; however, you need to have an HDTV to have them on your computer. Different brands are available in the market. They are simple and easy to install and they are affordable. This is perhaps the best option to take if you want to take advantage of all the available features.

Recording TV shows on the PC even if you are outside your home is possible by using cards to connect your PC to HDTV. The concept is like a programmable VCR but to be sure this is going to work, you've got to find out if the card model is not set to function as a decoder only. It is a good idea to find a recordable model because with this card model, saving TV shows on the PC is possible.

Since it is possible to see standard and regular programs on an HDTV, it is also possible to watch standard analog programs on a computer through this kind of card. Equally, standard analog program recording is also possible although a different program is needed to view this.

By connecting your PC to HDTV, no matter how you use it, there is certainly a perfect option for you.
