Disposable Utensils
I have written a few articles about catering products and disposables like plates and packaging, now I am going to write about the utensils that can be found within the disposable catering sector.
There are a number of instances where disposable utensils will be the preferred choice.
Takeaway food vans, just like the packaging they use the cutlery they provide is the same.
It would simply be too expensive to give away metal cutlery for the customer with their food; they would end up making a loss and go out of business.
So instead they opt for small plastic knives and Forks, these are supplied in a big box that can be placed on the side for the customers to take if required.
They are very cheap and help to keep complaints down from the public.
Not only are they cheap but they are disposable making them good on the environment.
Chip shops also use the same products but tend to opt for the small wooden forks, this gives a very traditional 'chip shop by the sea' feel and are even cheaper than the plastic ones.
If you are hosting a party you will also be better off using disposable cutler over metal cutlery, it saves a lot of washing up and can all be thrown away after, it also carries less of a health risk (hazard) incase small children are involved.
The disposable utensils can come in a range of colours however plain white ones are the most common you will come across.
