2004 Honda CBR 1000 RR Specifications
- Honda first launched the Fireblade series in 2004 as a replacement for the CBR 954 RR and the range is still running today. The 2004 CBR 1000 RR Fireblade had a manufacturer's suggest retail price of $10,999. The super sport motorcycle came in black, red with black and silver with black.
- An inline four-cylinder engine with 60.9 cubic inches of displacement and an 11.9:1 compression ratio is the heartbeat of the Honda. All four cylinders have a bore of 3 inches and the piston's stroke is 2.2 inches. In total, there are 16 valves. The four-stroke engine is liquid-cooled and has a double overhead camshaft valve configuration. It can generate 171.3 horsepower at 11,250 rpm and 84.8 foot-pounds of torque at 8,500 rpm. The bike's six-speed transmission with chain final drive sends this power down to the wheels where a top speed of 179 mph is possible. The Honda can also accelerate from zero to 62 mph in three seconds.
- Dual 12.2-inch discs at the front end of the Honda take on one half of the braking duties. A single 8.7-inch disc brake at the back provides the rest of the bike's stopping power. A 1.7-inch HMAS cartridge fork suspension consisting of adjustable preload, compression damping and rebound damping attempts to deliver a smooth ride. At the back, an HMAS Pro-link single shock suspension system, with the same features as the front, lends a hand. The front suspension offers 4.7 inches of travel, the rear system allows for 5.3 inches of travel.
- The super sport motorcycle's wheelbase is 55.6 inches and its seat is 32.5 inches above the ground. With a rake of 23.8 degrees, the trail stands at 4 inches. A rear tire 7.5 inches wide with a 5.8 inches wide sidewall covers a 17-inch diameter wheel. Despite fitting an identical wheel, the front tire is thinner, standing at 4.7 inches wide with a 3.30-inch high sidewall. Minus passengers and cargo, the Honda weighs 458.6 lbs. With a full tank, the Honda holds a total of 4.8 gallons of gas, with 1.1 gallons in reserve.
