Did Blake Griffin Get an Invite to the All-Star Game for Entertainment?

Why did Blake Griffin get an invite to the All-Star game? He's in the rookie game and the dunk contest.
Is that enough? Griffin is probably the second most entertaining player in the NBA right now behind LeBron.
On ESPN Mobile, they have a "Dunk of the Night", LeBron and Griffin are two of the few players who get their names in the title.
He's only a rookie, but he's already had enough SportsCenter dunks worthy of getting his name in the title.
Any Clippers highlight is guaranteed to feature him dunking at least a couple times, and nobody watching Clippers highlights worries about the final score, just dunks and just by Blake Griffin.
So why did Griffin get an invite? It's pretty easy to argue that one from the group of David West, Kevin Love, Kevin Martin, Monta Ellis, and Zach Randolph should have got in over him.
To be fair, Blake Griffin has brought the Clippers back to relevance, not playoff worthy yet, but at least worth going to the game if the Clippers are in town.
He's not yet to the level of some of those other players, and I'd like to see veterans get the nod over a rookie.
But, the all-star game is a show, it's about entertainment and fun.
None of those other players are as exciting as Griffin, so it looks like the NBA is setting a precedent with this one.
Unless he gets injured, putting him as the only rookie on the all-star game hands him the ROY award.
We'll see if the exciting rookie next year gets into the All-Star game over a boring veteran.
