    • 3). Add "contact X to coordinate food and beverages," where X is the name of the person organizing the event. This has the additional benefit of ensuring there is a wide variety of food.

    • 4). Request a family dish by stating "Please bring a family favorite to share." The Knot suggests this for potluck receptions. It gives the event an intimate feeling.
