Kim Grant created this costume using an old sleeping bag, a white sheet, and some old clothes.

Kim says, "I first cut out two large triangles out of the sleeping bag cutting out semi circle at middle for neck opening. Place both triangles on white sheet and cut out four triangles just slightly larger than sleeping bag triangles. Place sleeping bag triangles between two sheet triangles and sew up. Then place two triangles of sleeping bag and sheet together and sew at top leaving opening for neck.

Sew a lace or scarf half on side of each triangle for a closing belt to keep sides together once on child.

Sew small triangular pieces of yellow material, for cheese, to front of triangle. Then on top of yellow triangles, sew red circles cut out of material for pepperoni. Cut small rectangles of green material for green pepper and sew also on top of yellow cheese triangles. If you like cut out of light brown or tan material some mushroom shapes and attach to front of triangles as well. You can either applique these on or use sewing machine two attach. You can use no sew adhesive if you like but then washing costume is not allowed."

Kim's supply list:
  • White sheet
  • Old sleeping bag
  • Scrap material in yellow, red, green and tan
  • Scarf or ribbon for belt
