When you are busy planning a wedding ceremony and reception, it might be hard to think of wedding program and bulletin ideas, but this early planning stage is the perfect time to draft them. Creating a special wedding program or bulletin is simple when you think of all the individual items that go into planning your wedding ceremony and reception. Highlighting the special aspects of your ceremony and/or reception in a traditional, romantic or theme bulletin or program helps your guests share your special day. - A traditional wedding program is an elegant listing of the important aspects of and the participants in your wedding ceremony. But traditional information, such as the wedding date, service order summary and the names of the bridal party, doesn't have to be boring. You can create a lovely program or bulletin with all of the traditional information, but select embossed papers, accent ribbons or floral appliques to turn traditional up a notch. You can also dress up traditional information with your personal wedding vows or a Bible passage that is special to you and your fiance.
- Romantic wedding programs and bulletins are all about the fairy tale love that you and your fiance share. Personalizing the standard information found in a wedding program with a story about how you met or a photograph of the two of you enjoying a shared activity allows your guests to see inside your life together. Taking a wedding program beyond traditional to romantic is simple when you add small insights into your romantic relationship. If you are uncomfortable with writing a personal romantic story, simply add a romantic poem that touches both you and your fiance.
- By the time a bride starts to think of wedding program and bulletin ideas, she may already have selected an overall theme for her wedding. The theme doesn't have to be all encompassing like a prom decorating theme. It can be as straightforward, as casual or as specific as Victorian gold and silver accents over ruby red textiles. If you do select an overall theme for your wedding ceremony and reception, carry that theme through into your bulletin or program. Use the colors in your theme. Use a casual or formal style of writing in a simple or elaborate text. Place a sketch or photograph that represents the theme on your bulletin cover. Shape the bulletin or program to match the theme. A bulletin easily can be rolled into a scroll for a Victorian-themed wedding or cut into a football shape for a football-themed wedding.
