Tree Pruning Tools
- The rope saw is something of a new concept for pruning the tree in places that are otherwise unreachable from the ground. The saw part fits around the tree and you use two ropes from the ground to saw through the tree branch. Rotate, pulling on each rope, to operate the sawing. Use a ladder to place the saw, but for the actual sawing, you are safely on the ground. This could be used on thicker tree branches.
- The pole lopper has a 14-inch pruning saw and a 1-inch lopper on the end of a long pole. Use the slider on the pole to open the saw or pruner and retract it to prune a branch. This tool works well on branches that are no more than a few inches round. You can easily stand on the ground to use this tool and if you need a longer reach, you can use an extension attachment.
- The folding saw works for standing on the ground and sawing tree branches up higher in the tree. Extension poles can be used to yield more height. The pruner works very well on any size tree branch.
- The buck saw must be used close to the branch that you are pruning. The portable saw can be used by one or two people for sawing on the tree. The handle is square on the top side and has a saw blade on the bottom side.
- The chain saw is used for pruning and cutting down entire trees. Chain saws come with different size chains and can cut small to large tree trunks. Chain saws should only be used by someone that has experience with them and only in trees where the operator is secure and cannot fall if the chain saw bucks when sawing.
