The wedding is over and the party is coming to a close.
What do you want your guests to recall? What do you wish will be the last thing they remember about your wedding day? Your wedding favors are the last thing that your guests will typically be given.
The favor gives your wedding guests something to remember when the lingering scent of calla lilies has gone.
They will offer a lasting memento, a lasting memory of the day, the good time they had and the small touches that made your wedding perfect.
How do you select the perfect wedding favor to offer your wedding guests? What is the right kind of wedding favor to offer to your guests? Will it be something personal, or personalized, or both? Selecting something that has significant meaning for the two of you is one way to go.
If you both love dogs, or cats, then offering something with that type theme will be memorable for everyone and remind them of you.
Party favors of any kind should say something about the people who offer them.
Will your wedding be a beach theme, an Asian theme, will it be mirrored by your bridal shower or some other type party.
Favors can be interlinked, so that one party, such as the bachelor party favors, will be a prelude to the wedding favors.
First things first.
Set a price that you can afford to pay for the favors in their entirety.
Then divide that of course by the number of wedding guests that you expect, adding a few for the sake of correctness.
Typically you will spend anywhere from 4 dollars to 15 or 20 dollars on your wedding favors.
Try to go along with your theme.
When you elect to use wedding favors that go along with your wedding theme in some way, they will also be useful as table decorations.
Many couples choose personalized favors to give as their party favors.
This will quite likely increase the cost of the favors a little, but they will make the wedding favors far more personal and far more memorable to the people who attend your wedding.
Years down the road, they won't have forgotten where they got that small statue of the chocolate lab that you both love so much.
Many people choose a keepsake type item such as a miniature wedding cake, a candle, or a small statue, while others will select something edible that is meant to be enjoyed right away.
Either one is quite proper.
A few considerations to bear in mind - scented items, such as candles are wonderful things, but keep them well wrapped, or don't use them on the tables.
The heady, beautiful smells can cause allergies or ruin the smell and taste of your guests food.
The wedding favors that you select should reflect the personality, the passions or hobbies of you and your new spouse.
They are meant to reflect well on your happy event.
Make sure that the things that you select leave them with a happy and lasting memory of the two of you.
