Affiliate Marketing Systems - Writing Articles For Traffic
Writing articles for affiliate marketing is one of the ways that you can dramatically improve your financial picture without having a rich uncle die and leave you in his will.
Articles should be 'keyed' to specific long-tail key phrases in order to appear on the first page or two of Google - and must target long-tail key phrases that are popular enough to drive a reasonable amount of traffic, yet non-competitive enough to end up on the first page or two of Google.
This is a delicate balance, but can easily be achieved if you know how to go about it.
Using Google's keyword tool can locate the keyword phrases you want - and will also tell you how many searches are conducted for that phrase each month.
Selecting phrases that have at least 100 searches every day will be the most profitable.
Simply doing a search on that phrase will reveal how many web pages show up for that term - and anything less than 1 million is worth targeting.
If you can find terms that have less than 1,000 competing websites, yet has over 100 searches a day - you've struck gold.
Now - here's a trick that few will show you - if you want to see how many websites are competing for your chosen long-tail keyword phrase, simply type in title:"keyword phrase" - but be careful - Google will tell you something like this: "Results 1-10 of about 1,880 for in title:"affiliate marketing system" But if you're smart, you'll go to the bottom of the page, and click over to the last page...
where you'll get a much more accurate result - and many times it will be drastically different...
here's the result for the same search above: "Results 121-128 of 128 for in title:"affiliate marketing system" Rather a huge difference, wouldn't you say?So be careful - if you don't check the last page, you may toss away a perfectly good long-tail keyword phrase that you think has too much competition.
Writing articles to drive traffic to the affiliate product of your choice should result in sales of up to 3% or more.
For every 100 people you send to a sales page, you should be able to pick up 3 sales.
If you end up with less than a three percent conversion - you've chosen the wrong affiliate program to market, or your keywords are poorly chosen.
