How to Remove Rear Wheel Studs From a 2003 Ford Explorer
- 1). Park the vehicle on a flat surface, set the parking brake and place wheel chocks in front of and behind the front tires.
- 2). Loosen the lug nuts by turning each one a half-turn with the lug wrench.
- 3). Jack up the rear of the Explorer. Place the jack stands and lower the vehicle onto them.
- 4). Remove the lug nuts. Remove the wheel.
- 5). Spray the wheel studs with penetrating lubricant oil. Let the oil set a few minutes.
- 6). Strike the front of the wheel stud with a hammer. The stud will pop out the back.
