When going on diet there are many different foods you can substitute to make your eating healthier. When you start your diet program it is a stock to have to cut down the amount of food you eat. You are not used to this decrease in food so here are a few changes you can make in your diet make it successful.

Start with your breakfast. No toast and coffee take the time to make a good wholesome breakfast as this meal will get your body up and running. Research has shown that a breakfast high in protein is much healthier and can keep you fuller longer and reduce the amount of calories during the day by 500. The best food for this meal is eggs. They are high in protein ad will take time to digest being protein. It takes your digestive system longer to break down protein and this time released breakdown allows your body to continually send the messages to the brain that it is full.

Another benefit is that because it takes time to be broken down into usable compounds you have a steady source of nutrients being supplied to the body thus enabling you to feel better and have more energy in the morning. So do not skip this all important meal. The biggest benefit is that your body is burning up calories for a longer period of time digesting the protein without adding calories.

A simple change is to change the type of spreads you use. Start using low fat spreads instead of full-fat or even butter and this alone can cut about 40 calories in a day. With these two changes alone you have just saved over 440 calories. This does not even account for the healthier foods you are eating and the slow process of changing to
healthy eating habits.

Another simple way to cut calories and change some of your eating habits is to increase the volume of foods mot the calories. Eat more salads and vegetable dishes as these are bulky and filling but are low in calories. Since your body will expend calories to digest the fiber, which cannot, also helps to lose weight. Other foods such as soups, fruits and whole grains and low calories mouse which are partially air can save you calories and fill you up. Fiber is a great filling food that will fill you up and not add calories to your diet.

Changing to diet drinks or water that has 1 or no calories is a change that should be done immediately when starting a diet. In a very short period of time you will overcome the taste difference. Most soda drinks and fruit juices are simply liquid sugar and this is sugar that is dumped into the blood stream immediately as the sugar used in these drinks is a simple sugar in which your body does need to digest. These are empty calories and should be avoided at all costs.

If you are overweight you need to cut back on the sugar for a couple of reasons. The excess sugar increases the production of insulin in the body ad one of the side effects of insulin is to increase your appetite. If you are overweight have you ever wondered why after a large meal in short time you were hungry again? This is because with
the excess insulin produced you will always feel hungry even after eating. Another reason is if you are cutting back and exercising the calories you are burning off from stored body fat will be replaced by this sugar as your body is producing insulin which another one of its duties is to change the excess sugar in your blood to stored fat. The energy you burned exercising will be replaced with this fat and you will not have any benefit and no loss of weight.

By having a well balanced meal and exercise program in place and make a few changes in your eating habits you can lose weight and burn fat and reach your goals.
