- 1). Attend college and get a degree in Travel and Tourism, Business Management, Marketing, Finance, or Hotel Management. Having a college degree in these disciplines will make you stand out from a crowd of applicants.
- 2). Become familiar with the culture and traditions of Sao Paulo. A good hotel employee knows their city seamlessly and can point guests in the right direction whether they're looking for shopping, food, or recreation. Most residents of Sao Paulo, for example, eat dinner later than the rest of the world and many restaurants do not even begin serving dinner until 9 at night. Knowing this and demonstrating your knowledge in the interview will show the hiring manager that you're serious about wanting the job for which you've applied.
- 3). Work in a hotel anywhere and get good recommendations. Have you managers or their bosses write you letters when you leave that detail your customer service, work ethic, and any improvements you've made to the hotel.
- 4). Write a cover letter explaining how you found the job and why you think you'd be a good fit for the position. Format your resume in the correct way for applying for work in Brazil: personal contact information, including your email, address, and phone number; your education, including your college, years you attended, degree and certificates. You should also put your language abilities or classes you feel are relevant to the position here; your work experience in reverse chronological order with a note explaining any unusual gaps in employment, promotions, or awards; your volunteer work and positions within organizations and your civil status. You should put whether you're single and married and what country you hold citizenship in.
- 5). Send your resume and cover letter to the hiring manager of every hotel in Sao Paulo that you're interested in working for. Once a hotel has hired you for the job, request that it sponsors your work visa, which it should be expecting to do if you aren't a citizen of Brazil.
