How to Make a Wire Wall Trellis
- 1). Draw the grid. Mark the area to be covered in vine on the wall with a pencil. Make the measurement in both length and height by multiples of eight. The grid should be a square or rectangular shape.
- 2). Drill in the hooks. Drill in the hooks for the top and bottom portion of the grid. These hooks will run horizontally. Space the hooks 8 inches apart. Then drill in the hooks for the right and left side of the grid. These hooks will run vertically. For the top hooks on the right and left side of the grid, space them 8 inches below and 8 inches away from the hooks running horizontally on top. And for the bottom hooks on the right and left side of the grid, space them 8 inches above and 8 inches away from the hooks running horizontally at the bottom.
- 3). Attach the wires. Fasten the wires vertically first. Pull them taut and fasten the ends by twisting them with pliers. Then fasten the wires horizontally. Pull them taut and fasten the ends by twisting with pliers. Cut the ends with a wire cutter.
