So you are your own boss and want to better manage your time.
If you are self-employed you will find that this is something very difficult to do.
Because you use to have a boss, someone telling you want to do every day.
When you are late, they will yell at you.
If you are not performing, you will get fired.
Being self-employed isn't like being a regular employee.
You don't have anyone telling you what to do.
You set your own schedule, and alone decides if you are doing a good job or not.
How do you know that you are doing a good job if you work for yourself? You can often check by how much money you have made.

There is no 'guaranteed' income, like a salary or paychecks of traditional jobs.
You choose how much you get paid.
So if you can't base performance off of previous work done, and you can't really judge how much money you are going to make in the future.
(Because the future is often quite uncertain, and there is often an incubation period for rewards.
) You can't use money to judge your current performance on the day to day.

If you are self-employed you are the owner of your job.
People who own their job can use money as a judge of current performance.
They can work to make money all day long.
They might not be building a business, but they are paying the bills.
