Gameplay in Brief:

In The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game, which is set in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth, players choose heroes to lead on quests where they will meet allies, acquire artifacts, and confront dangerous creatures.

The quests are set in the time frame from near the end of The Hobbit to near the beginning of The Fellowship of the Ring. The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game gives players the opportunity -- with characters, settings, enemies, events, items, artifacts, and scenarios -- to find new adventures during what was an ominous period of Middle-earth history.

Basics:

For 1 to 2 players, ages 13 and up. About 60 minutes per game. (Up to four players can play with two core sets.)

The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game is a cooperative card game with a fantasy theme. It is also part of Fantasy Flight Games' Living Card Games series. LCGs are similar to collectible card games, with plenty of expansions for players to enjoy but without the blind purchase aspect -- you always know what you are buying.
