How Do I Make Free Funeral Cards?
- 1). Choose a heavy stock paper or stationery to produce sturdy cards.
- 2). Select a photo to be the background if you are not using a patterned or colored stationery. A landscape or religious background will work well and will give the card a serene and peaceful effect.
- 3). Scan the photo into your computer if it is not stored there already.
- 4). Open a Word document or comparable software on your computer. Click on "Insert," then "Picture," then "Picture From File."
- 5). Navigate to the desired photo and click "Insert." Modify the image to the size you want by clicking on the photo and dragging the corners in or out.
- 6). Select the Text Box icon at the bottom of the screen and click and drag to create a text box over the image. Type in the sentiments you want to include.
- 7). Write a poem or some sentiment about the person who passed away. You could also include a religious or spiritual sentiment, such as the "Footprints" story (see Resource).
- 8). Clear the background of the text box by right-clicking on the text and selecting "Borders and Shading." In the box that opens, select "Colors and Lines." Set the "Fill Color" to "No Fill." This will clear out the white background so the image is visible through the text.
- 9). Click on the photo to modify it if the text is difficult to read over it. In the box that opens, click on the sun icon with the upward-pointing arrow to adjust the brightness of the image. Continue to click the icon until you have enough contrast to read the text. If you do not want to alter the image, try highlighting the text and changing the color to white.

Right-click on the photo and hit "Copy." Hit "Paste" to create as many copies of the card as you want. Right-click the border of the text box and select "Copy." Paste it as many times as you need to. Be sure to use the space bar to make space between each card to make them easier to cut out. - 11
Print the cards and cut them out.
