How to Make a Perfect Pentagram

    • 1). Use your compass to draw a circle. This circle will contain the pentagram, so make it is the size you want your pentagram to be. If you are drawing the pentagram on a flat, hard surface, make sure the surface is secure before you do any drawing. If you are drawing the pentagram on a piece of fabric, make sure that the fabric is securely tacked down.

    • 2). Mark five equally spaced points--in pencil--along the circumference of the circle. These points will each be 72-degrees apart. If you want one point of the star to be pointing straight up, start by putting a mark on the top of the circle. If you want one point of the star to point straight down, start by putting a mark on the bottom of the circle. Using a protractor, and working from the center of the circle, measure off 72 degrees from each mark, and place another mark on the circle at this point. When you are finished, there should be five equally spaced marks.

    • 3). Draw two lines from each mark--one line going to each of two other marks. Choose one mark, and count over two marks to the left. Draw a line from this mark to the starting mark. Now do the same thing going right--go to the second mark, and draw a line to the starting mark. You will be doing this to every mark. When you are finished, there will be two lines coming from each mark--one going to the second mark to the left, and one going to the second mark on the right. Now that the star has been drawn, you can erase the five marks on the circle.
