Emptying the Dirt Container on a Dyson Upright

• 1). Switch the vacuum off and unplug the cable from the socket.
  
  
• 2). Press the cyclone release button - located on the handle - and move forward. Pull the cyclone assembly free of the cleaner.
  
  
• 3). Push the bin release catch. It's located on the cyclone assembly. Move it forward to free the dirt container.
  
  
• 4). Wrap the neck of a plastic bag round the top the bin. Hold it tight and empty the bin into the bag. Do not separate the bin and the bag for 10 seconds to allow the dirt to settle.
  
  
• 5). Wash the bin in warm water and dry thoroughly.
  
  
• 6). Ensure the bin is completely dry before reattaching it to the cleaner.
  
  

Emptying the Dirt Container on a Dyson Canister Vacuum

• 1). Switch the vacuum cleaner off and remove its plug from the socket.
  
  
• 2). Remove the clear dust container by pressing the release button at the rear of the carrying handle.
  
  
• 3). Place the opening of the clear bin into a plastic bag. Make sure the bag is wrapped tightly around the bin.
  
  
• 4). Release the dirt by pressing the button on the front of the clear bin. Wait 10 seconds to allow the dust to settle.
  
  
• 5). Remove the cyclone from the bin before washing it with warm water. The bin must be dry before the cleaner is reassembled.
  
  

Emptying the Clear Dirt Container on a Handheld Dyson Cleaner

• 1). Remove the Dyson handheld cleaner from its charger and ensure it is switched off.
  
  
• 2). Press the clear bin release button on the underside of the cleaner.
  
  
• 3). Remove the bin and wrap a plastic bag around its opening.
  
  
• 4). Empty the contents of the bin into a plastic bag. Keep the bag wrapped tightly around the bin for 10 seconds to allow the dust to settle.
  
  
• 5). Wash the clear bin and ensure it is completely dry before putting it back on the handheld cleaner.
