How to Replace a Weed Trimmer Line
- 1). Pop the spool off the trimmer head. Some pop off while some come off by pressing two buttons together. Other models twist off like a "child-proof" medicine cap: Push down and turn.
- 2). Remove the leftover string, if there is any, from the spool.
- 3). Wrap the fresh string around the spool in the direction indicated on the spool with an arrow. Wrap the string around the spool four or five times, then leave 7 to 10 inches of line off the spool.
- 4). Rest the spool up against the head. Take the extra 7 to 10 inches of line and run it through the appropriate hole on the trimmer.
- 5). Snap the spool back into the head.
- 1). Look into the line hole for any clogs.
- 2). Place one end of a piece of hassle-free line in a center line on the head. Place the other piece of line into the other hole on the head.
- 3). Slide both sides of the line through the hole until it appears through the sides of the head.
- 4). Pull the string through the sides tight with your hands.
