How to Use Two USB Modems on a Laptop With the Ubuntu OS

    • 1). Connect your two USB modems to your computer (if you haven't already done so). The USB modems will insert directly into any available USB ports on your computer.

    • 2). Click on the Ubuntu "Network Manager" desktop tool bar icon to launch the Network Manager drop-down menu. In the menu you will see a listing for each of the two USB modems.

    • 3). Click on the USB modem you want to use. This will display a list of available networks that you can connect to using the modem. Click the name of the network to connect to it. Your computer will now be on the Internet.

    • 4). Click the "Network Manager" icon again.

    • 5). Click on the listing for the second USB modem. This will display another list of networks you can connect to using that modem. Click on the name of a network to connect to it with that modem. Your operating system will disconnect the first modem as it establishes a connection using the second modem. Your Ubuntu computer is now online.
