- 1). Travel to the Zangarmash zone on the Outlands continent.
- 2). Locate the NPC that will give you the quest for the mote extractor schematic. If your character is part of the Alliance faction, the NPC is K. Lee Smallfry, found in the town of Teldredor; if your character is Horde, the NPC is Mack Diver, found just outside the town of Zabra'jin.
- 3). Obtain the quest called "The Zapthrottle Mote Extractor!" from the appropriate NPC.
- 4). Collect 15 Steam Pump Parts, the required items for the quest. These items can be found in the north-eastern corner of the zone, in an area called "The Dead Mire." Once you have finished collecting the items, return to the NPC and deliver them. This will reward you with the schematic for the mote extractor.
- 5). Locate the schematic in your inventory and right click it to learn it.
- 6). Collect the raw materials for the mote extractor. You will need four Primal Life, eight Fel Iron Bars, one Arcanite Bar and one Ironweb Spider Silk. You can purchase these directly from other players or find them on the Auction House.
- 7). Convert six of the Fel Iron Bars into two Fel Iron Casings.
- 8). Convert the remaining two Fel Iron Bars into two Handfuls of Fel Iron Bolts.
- 9). Convert the Arcanite Bar and Ironweb Spider Silk into a Delicate Arcanite Converter. If you do not know the schematic for Delicate Arcanite Converter, you can purchase it in the Winterspring zone, from a NPC named Xizzer Fizzbolt located in the town of Everlook.

Convert the two Fel Iron Casings, the two Handful of Fel Iron Bolts, the four Primal Life and the Delicate Arcanite Converter into the Zapthrottle Mote Extractor.
