This fishing village is a great spot to get away from the touristy crowds (though you may see a few). Located in the western Algarve, it has maintained some traditional Portuguese life.
You can reach Salema easily by public transit. The bus from Lagos takes 30 minutes and is around 3€ each way.

Praia da Rocha
This beach lined with red cliffs is a top pick by many for a reason. It has beautiful views, including that of the 16th century fort, Fortaleza da Santa Catarina. Much of the area is commercialized, offering plenty of places to eat and drink at. But a closer look in town reveals some nice historic guesthouses and the beach offers plenty of natural beauty.
You can reach Praia da Rocha by public transit.
The bus takes 30 minutes from Lagos and costs around 5€ each way.

Faro Beach (Praia de Faro)
Faro beach is easily accessible from both Faro´s city center and Faro airport, making it an easy trip. It has sandy beaches to sunbath on and water to swim in, with plenty of snack bars near by. This lovely beach is a quick, easy and inexpensive day to the beach.
Faro beach is very easy to get by public transport. From Faro´s city center across the street from the main bus terminal, you can catch buses 14 or 16.
