What Bodies of Water Are in Finland?
- Lake Inari is Finland's northernmost lake and its third largest. It is situated somewhat far from any centers of industry and its drainage basin is used by reindeer herders.
- Lake Saimaa, located in southeastern Finland, is the largest lake in the country. It is surrounded by pine and birch forests and has many islands.
- Lake Oulujarvi is Finland's fourth-largest lake. It has the largest stretches of water of all Finnish lakes, giving it the appearance of a sea.
- Lake Pielinen is in the mideastern part of Finland. It features a diverse landscape as well as a number of islands.
- Lake Paijanne is the southernmost of Finland's larger lakes, the country's second largest. As a tourist destination, it offers a museum, along with a 15th century church.
