A Home Business Should Bring You Freedom and Provide a Stress-Free Environment

Having a home based business should not create more stress for you, but rather bring a sense of joy and peace and calm into your life.
If it doesn't, then you've chosen the wrong home business, you're not cut out for being your own boss just yet, or your working from a position of being desperate.
I have played around with several home businesses over the years and found myself very unhappy and stressed out to the max more than a few times.
In looking back on my own personal experience and in listening to others in the industry, I found three common threads for stress in the home business arena.
I'd like to share them with you.
In all honesty, my first biggest stressor was because I choose a business that I didn't want to tell my family and friends about.
I couldn't get excited about my product, be it juice, vitamins, soap, cereal, whatever.
The prices were so high and to be very truthful with you, I didn't care about what I was selling as much as I just wanted to make money.
So what happened was I found myself spending money on product I wasn't excited about or could afford in the first place and on advertising.
And, because I was operating from a sense of embarrassment, I obviously couldn't talk to people about it with any level of success.
They could hear my lack of passion in my voice.
Since then, thank God, I have wised up to take my home business seriously and have learned to choose a product that I can be genuinely excited about.
For me, I love my home business in the travel industry with Global Resorts Network.
For my Mom and Dad, it's vitamins and nutrition with Shaklee.
For you, it may be something entirely different.
It doesn't matter.
Find what you can be passionate and excited about.
Stress creator number two is generated from people who just don't make good bosses at the moment.
There are people who have a hard time when there's nobody telling them what to do from 9 to 5.
After years of being programmed by a job, they're more robot than they realize.
They can't focus, they aren't making money and they're unorganized.
Have a self-talk with yourself and ask your inner you if you make a good boss.
Would you hire you?I'm going to write a lot more about this in future articles, so be watching for this.
But, bottom line, perhaps having your own home business is just too stressful right now.
Does that mean you can never have a business? No, of course not.
It means you need to do some personal development, learn to organize and prioritize, master time management, learn discipline, get your thinking straight, get a plan of action, and begin to eat the elephant one bite at a time under the coaching and mentorship of your sponsor, upline, whatever the title is for your company.
You can also get outside coaching for all these things.
This third stressor is an opportunity for me to be honest about my own past history again.
My old self used to work from a level of desperation to make money right now.
Home businesses take time to build for the most part.
If you have to make money right now, you need to get a job and make a decision to enjoy the journey of slowing and gradually building your business.
Depending on what business product and company you go with, it is very possible to be in profit mode within a few weeks.
For me in my GRN business, it was 7 days.
But for others it can be much longer.
If you're desperate, you need to keep your job and work your home business part time.
Here's what I've learned about being desperate and it's what I share with my new business owners.
You won't make money until you can get calm and relaxed about your business.
When you operate from a level of calm and joy your business will begin to grow.
This is the hardest concept for new business owners to grasp.
They want that instant miracle to change their finances and that just translates to the biggest mess of stress you can imagine.
If your home business is causing you worry, stress, and you're not having fun, back away from it for a bit.
Take a break.
Reach down in yourself and find what's making you stressful.
Talk to your upline and ask for help with these feelings.
Decide what the root causes of your stress are, and then make deliberate choices and plans to change that.
Having a home business does bring so much joy and peace and fun and freedom into the family.
