    • Good communication skills, math acumen and the ability to properly manage time and resources are assets in the engineering field. To perform the necessary duties proficiently, a control engineer often uses cold forming presses, interferometers, vibration control systems and analytical software, such as Sigmetrix CETOL 6 Sigma.

    Academic Qualifications and Remuneration

    • A control engineer usually has a four-year college degree in industrial or electrical engineering, math or another quantitative discipline. According to the career resources portal Indeed.com, the average annual pay for a control engineer was $88,000 as of 2010.
